Sean’s Biography

Sean, from Ballinalee Co. Longford, played underage football with Belvedere Boys before making the move to England where he joined the youth set-up at Middlesborough. He returned from England in 2000 and signed for Shamrock Rovers in October of that year. But his stay with the Hoops was brief and he left to sign for his hometown club without having made a senior appearance for them.

Sean made his LoI debut against Kilkenny City in 2000/01 and in seven years with Longford Town he made 171 league appearances. He also won two FAI Cup winners medals with Longford, in 2003 and 2004, along with a League Cup winners medal in '04, scoring the winning goal in the final against Bohemians. At the start of 2008 Sean signed for Drogheda United but was forced to retire due to a heart complaint in April of that year.
