Paul’s Biography

Previously with local club Renmore, Paul joined Galway United's U21 side in 2007 before making a gradual progression into the senior squad. He made 1 league appearance in 2008, in a 3-2 home defeat to Bray Wanderers on 25 April, and added 14 more in 2009.

By 2010 Paul was a regular in Galway United's back four and was a first choice centre back in their last season of league football in 2011. In the summer of 2012 Paul signed up with Johnny Glynn's Mervue United for the second half of their First Division campaign but he did not appear for the League side, settling into the Junior team rather than the seniors. He returned to league action in 2013 and made 22 league appearances for Mervue as the finished third in the First Division table, losing out on penalties to Longford Town in their promotion play-off.

On 14 December 2013 Paul signed up for Galway FC, the new unified football entity that replaced both Mervue and Salthill Devon in the League of Ireland. Paul was named the captain of the side and played in all 28 league games, as well as all four of the club's play-off games as Galway were promoted to the Premier Division at the first time of asking.

Paul remained an integral part of Galway's 2015 Premier Division team and added a further 28 league appearances to his tally as Galway finished tenth in the Premier Division. He also played in the EA Sports Cup Final, which Galway lost on penalties to St Pats. In 2016 Paul made a further 29 league appearances as the Tribesmen finished ninth in the league table.
