Shane’s Biography

Shane played under-age football with St Joseph's Boys and Cherry Orchard before signing for Bray Wanderers. He made his debut for the Seagulls in 2008 as a late substitute in a 2-0 away defeat to Bohemians on 15th July. He made 2 league appearances in 2008 and followed up with 6 more in 2009, scoring his first goal for Bray in a 2-1 defeat to Galway United at the Carlisle Grounds on 24 July 2009.

Shane had a bumper year in 2010, appearing in 29 of Bray's Premier Division games, scoring five league goals. However it was in the Cups that he made hay, scoring six goals in Bray's Leinster Senior Cup winning campaign and adding four more in the FAI Cup. In 2011 Shane made just 10 league starts, but added 16 more league appearances from the bench.

In January 2012 the Bray born player left his home-town club to sign for Sean McCaffrey at Dundalk. Shane scored two goals in 16 appearances for the Lilywhites before leaving the club by mutual consent in July 2012. Having left Dundalk, Shane signed for Leinster Senior League side Wayside Celtic before rejoining Bray Wanderers in January 2013.

Shane made 8 league appearances for Bray Wanderers in 2013, all coming from the bench, before leaving the club in August 2013 when he signed for Shamrock Bhoys. In January 2014 he returned to Bray Wanderers for the third time, signing for new manager Alan Mathews. This time around Shane made 18 league appearances and scored just once in the league, in a 2-0 win over Drogheda United in April, as Bray finished tenth of twelve in the Premier Division.

Shane moved to First Division side Cabinteely FC in February 2015 and made 14 appearances in the league whilst also scoring two goals. He left the club at the end of the season.
