He made a goal-scoring debut for the Bit O' Red in a 2-0 home win over St Patrick's Athletic on 26th July and scored three goals in 15 league appearances over the remainder of the season, also scoring in that years FAI Cup final as Sligo lost 2-1 to Sporting Fingal at Tallaght Stadium.

In 2010 Eoin made a further 35 league appearances, scoring six goals, and won his first FAI Cup winners medal as Sligo defeated Shamrock Rovers in a penalty shootout at the Aviva Stadium. 2011 was Eoin's best season to date as he scored 20 league goals in 34 appearances, and he also picked up a second FAI Cup winners medal as Sligo overcame Shelbourne in the final after yet another penalty shootout.

In December 2011 Eoin signed for Pat Fenlon at Scottish Premier League side Hibernian and he spent 18 months at Easter Road, leaving Edinburgh to join Chesterfield in June 2013. He scord 32 league goals in 69 appearances there, departing in February 2015 to sign for Cardiff City.

Eoin was a regular starter at Bradford and hit the net 10 times in 44 league appearances during 2018/19 but again went out on loan, this time to Swindon Town for the 2019/20 season. That arrangement was made permanent in January 2020 but Eoin left Swindon in July 2020 Eoin to join Bolton Wanderers.
