Gary’s Biography

Gary played underage football with Newbridge Town before joining the schoolboy ranks at Shamrock Rovers. In 2008 he made the bench as an unused sub away to Finn Harps on 16 May but Gary returned to Newbridge in the Autumn of 2009.

When back at Newbridge Gary attracted the attention of Longford Town manager Gareth Cronin, but Cronin left Longford before any deal could be arranged and it was not until later in 2010 that Gary got another opportunity to play League football. In August 2010 he joined Bray Wanderers and in September he scored on his debut against Dundalk. Over the latter half of the season he scored three goals in 11 league and cup appearances, but the following year Gary was plagued by injury and made only 7 league appearances, scoring once.

On 2nd Jan 2012, Gary signed for First Division side Longford Town. He scored five times in 23 appearances as Longford reached the First Division promotion play-offs where they lost out to Waterford United. He stayed with Longford for the 2013 season and played 23 times in the league, scoring three goals, as they once more made the play-offs. However, they lost to Bray Wanderers in the final over two legs and stayed in the First Division for another year.

Gary stuck with Longford for the 2014 season and it was a case of third time lucky. Gary scored thirteen goals in 28 league appearances as Longford Town won the First Division title and in 2015, in the Premier Division, Gary scored five times in 32 league appearances as Longford finished sixth in the top tier. In December 2015, Gary moved to Pat Fenlon's Shamrock Rovers.

Gary's first two league appearances for Shamrock Rovers came from the bench and with a couple of minor injuries his first league goal didn't come until May when he was on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win over Sligo Rovers. He went on to get six goals from 27 league appearances. He also scored in the FAI Cup win over Midleton and played in both of the club's Europa League ties against Finnish side RoPS. Gary re-signed with Stephen Bradley's Shamrock Rovers for the 2018 season. However it was announced at the end of the season that Gary would leave the club.

Gary would then sign with St Patrick's Athletic ahead of the 2019 season but he netted just one league goal for the Saints and moved on to join Bray Wanderers on 2020. He scored 12 league goals over two seasons with Bray, leaving them at the end of 2021.
