Kalen’s Biography

Kalen Spillane developed at Carrigaline United in Cork, playing at centre back during the club's run to the third round of the 2009 FAI Cup. Tullamore Town and Cobh Ramblers were defeated before Waterford United ended Carrigaline's adventure winning 6-0 win at the RSC.

Spillane signed for Tommy Dunne at Cork City Foras Co-op in June of 2010 and made his league debut against Monaghan United on 9 October, making 4 league appearances by the season's end.

In 2011, with the club back playing under the name Cork City, Kalen made 29 league appearances as the Rebels clinched the First Division title on the last night of the season. On their return to the top flight, Kalen played in 20 league games for Cork as they finished sixth in the Premier Division. Kalen was also a part of the Cork side in 2013 when he made 13 league appearances and scored once, against Shelbourne, as Cork repeated their sixth place finish.

Kalen joined Sligo Rovers in November 2013. He went on to play twenty league games for the Western club as they finished fifth in the 2014 Premier Division. In November 2014, Kalen returned to Carrigaline United.

In February 2023 Kalen returned to LOI football with Kerry FC, signing for Billy Dennehy's side ahead of their first ever season in the League of Ireland.
