Danny’s Biography

Danny developed in the Grimsby Town youth system and made his debut for the first team in February 2005. He became established at Grimsby in the 2006/07 season and was the club's top-scorer in 2007/08. Danny's fortunes changed when manager Alan Buckley left and he was released by the club in February 2010. A brief spell at non-league Alfreton Town took Danny to the end of the 2009/10 season and in June he signed for St Patrick's Athletic under manager Pete Mahon.

Danny's debut in the League of ireland came on 2 July 2010 in a 4-2 win over Galway United. He made 18 league appearance and scored 7 league goals in 2010 and the following season he hit 17 goals in all competitions. On 30 November 2011 Danny left Pats to sign for Sligo Rovers. He made his Sligo debut against Shelbourne on the opening night of the 2012 season and he scored 18 times in league and cup before a cruciate injury in July ended his season.

A league winner's medal for 2012 was some consolation but Danny remained sidelined until 1st June 2013 when he returned to action in an FAI Cup game against Waterford United. He played 16 league games, scoring four times, over the remainder of the season and came off the bench in the FAI Cup final against Drogheda United to score twice and help Sligo to a dramatic 3-2 at the Aviva Stadium.

Danny re-signed for the 2014 season for Sligo. He went on to play in twenty seven league games for the North-West club, scoring seven times in the process, as Sligo finished fifth. In November 2014, Danny joined Shamrock Rovers, under manager Pat Fenlon, for the 2015 Premier Division season. He went on to score nine times in twenty league games as Shamrock Rovers finished third in the Premier Division. He also played in three of the club's Europa League games as Rovers went out to Odds.

Staying with the Tallaght side for the 2016 campaign, Danny made eleven league appearances, scoring three times in the process, before injury saw him mutually agree to leave Shamrock Rovers in July 2016.
