Noel was promoted to the Mervue United senior squad from the U20's in 2010 and made his league bow coming on as a substitute against Wexford Youths on 19th March 2010. He made 16 league and cup appearances that season and in 2011 he developed into a key member of Mervue's midfield, making 24 league appearances and scoring his first league goal for the club, in a 3-0 win over Wexford Youths at Fahy's Field. He added 21 league appearances in 2012 and in 2013 Mervue finished third in the First Division, only losing out on penalties to Longford Town in the end-of-season promotion play-off. Noel appeared in 25 of the club's 28 league games that year and scored three times.

On 13 December 2013 Noel signed up for Galway FC, the new unified football entity that replaced both Mervue and Salthill Devon in the League of Ireland. Noel left the club though in April 2014
