Keith’s Biography

Keith joined Manchester United on leaving school in 1991. Having developed in the youth team he went on to make his first team debut in 1992/93. In total he made just nine league appearances for the club and moved to Newcastle United in January 1995.

Keith scored eleven league goals for the Magpies in 113 league appearances before moving to Blackburn Rovers in 1998. Five years followed at Ewood Park and he won a League Cup medal with the club in 2002.

He left Blackburn in 2003 and spent two years at Leicester City before moving to Sheffield United in August 2005. Keith made 97 league appearances in his four years with the Blades and spells at Bradford City, Glentoran and Darlington followed.

In March 2011 Keith signed for Tony Cousins at Longford Town, making his debut in a 2-0 win over Athlone Town on 2 April, and going on to make 18 league appearances over the season. Keith remained a regular in Longford's midfield in 2012, recording 24 league appearances and in 2013 he scored his first and only goal for the club in a 5-1 win over Cobh Ramblers. He retired from the game at the end of the 2013 season having made a total of 59 league appearances for Longford.
