Jimmy’s Biography

Jimmy first came to prominence in the Wexford Youths first team in 2009. Playing wide on the right Jimmy scored two league goals that year and midway through 2010 he signed for English club Bristol City. He spent a quiet year at Ashton Gate and failed to make the first team, instead going on loan to non-league Clevedon Town in November of 2010.

Jimmy was released by Bristol City in the summer of 2011 but shortly after that he signed for Exeter City on 17 August. One week later, on 24 August, he made his competitive debut in England, in a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the League Cup. He stayed with the club for four seasons, making over eighty appearances across League One, four in 2011-12, and League Two thereafter. He left the club at the end of the 2014-15 season and joined National League side Woking FC in August 2015 with who he made 15 league appearances, scoring twice. Jimmy left Woking in January 2016 and, a few days later, returned to the League of Ireland where he signed for Dave Robertson at Sligo Rovers.

Jimmy's debut for Sligo came on the opening weekend of the 2016 season at home to Shamrock Rovers and he made 31 league appearances over the season, scoring three times. At the end of the year he moved on, signing for John Caulfield at Cork City ahead of the 2017 campaign.

Having signed a short term deal in February 2019 for Rochedale, Jimmy then signed a new two-year contract in July 2019.
