Garry’s Biography
Gary is a central defender who previously spent time in England with Manchester City, where he played in the 2006 FA Youth Cup final defeat by Liverpool – a City side which also included Drogheda United's Michael Daly. After being released from there, he signed for League One side Hereford United in July 2008 but left by mutual consent the following February.
Soon after, he signed for Galway United and was an ever-present in the team throughout the 2009 season, helping them to safety in the Premier Division.
In February 2010 he rejoined forces with his former Galway United boss Ian Foster when signing for Dundalk. Dundalk fans will remember Breen from their first trip to Galway in 2009 when, on 13 March, he scored a late winner at Terryland Park. He made his league debut for Dundalk at Bray Wanderers on 5 March 2010 and scored an injury-time header to give the club their first opening-day win in the Premier Division since the 1996/97 season.
Garry left Dundalk at the end of the 2010 season and in January 2011 he signed for Irish League side Portadown.
In January 2020, Garry signed a new contract with Cliftonville to extend his stay until the end of the 2020/2021 season.
