Gemma’s Biography

McGuinness is a former Republic of Ireland under 19 international. She had a spell with Derry City and joined Sligo Rovers ahead of their inaugural season in the WNL in 2022. She missed just two games that season, scoring 7 times in 25 league and cup appearances and in January 2023 she left the Showgrounds to join Galway United Women.

Gemma made 15 league and cup appearances for Galway in 2023, scoring five times, including getting the winning goal in the Avenir Cup final against Cliftonville.

In August of 2023 Gemma left Galway to sign for English side Bournemouth.
