Liam’s Biography
Liam was a prolific striker who began his League of Ireland career at Shelbourne in 1978. One year later he signed for Shamrock Rovers and in five years with the Hoops he scored 66 league goals.
In the Summer of 1984 he left Shamrock Rovers to spend two years in Belgium with KSV Waregem, after which he moved to Spain where he had one season with Racing Santander. In the Summer of 1987 he was on the move again, this time signing for French side, Montreal Sports.
After two seasons in France Liam returned to Ireland where he signed for a second spell with Shamrock Rovers in 1989 where he had another three years. In 1992 he joined St Patrick's Athletic and he spent five seasons with the Saints before finishing his playing career with short spells at Sligo Rovers and Athlone Town.
Having finished as a player, Liam became a prominent manager, taking the reins at Athlone Town (twice), St Patrick's Athletic (three times), Shamrock Rovers, Sporting Fingal and Sligo Rovers.
