Having previously played underage football with Salthill Devon, Gary played for Galway United's U19 squad for the 2015 short and 2016 seasons. In February 2016, Gary played a part in Galway's pre-season friendly against UCD and he was later was promoted to the senior squad for the 2016 Premier Division campaign. He din't make a senior appearance that year but did make the match day squad for three league games.
Gary re-signed for Galway at the start of the 2018 season.
