Maxime played across the back line and as a defensive midfielder for various clubs, starting off with Laval, L'Entente SSG and Moulins in his native France before moving to League One side Tranmere Rovers in the summer of 2010.

He played one season with Tranmere before joining Plymouth Argyle in November 2011 on a short term deal. His performances were enough to earn an extended contract in January 2012 and he went on to win the club's Player of the Year award for the 2011-12 season. He stayed at Plymouth for two more seasons before leaving at the end of the 2013-14 season.

Maxime played pre-season with Shamrock Rovers in January 2015 before signing for the Tallaght club in February 2015. He went on to make seventeen league appearances, scoring four goals in the process, as Shamrock Rovers finished third in the Premier Division. Staying with the Tallaght side for the 2016 season, Maxime made a further nine league appearances before leaving the club in July 2016.
