Sean is a forward who played with Limerick FC's U19 side from 2013 to 2017 but he was involved with the senior team from an early stage. He was included in Stuart Taylor's first team squad ahead of the 2014 Premier Division campaign but didn't make a senior appearance although he did make the bench several times. Sean made his first senior appearance in a Munster Senior Cup tie against Leeds AFC on 24 January 2015 and also made his league debut that year, coming off the bench against Bohemians at Jackman Park on the opening weekend of the 2015 season.

Sean went on to make 2 league appearances 2015, a season which saw Limerick relegated after a two-leg play-off defeat to Finn Harps. In 2016 he made 7 league appearances and also scored his first league goal, in a 2-0 win away to Cabinteely as Limerick strolled to the First Division title and a return to top tier football.

In January 2019, Sean signed back with Limerick.
