Ciarán was part of Shamrock Rovers U19 squad for the 2011/12 season. In May 2012 he left to go to Australia to join Shamrock Rovers Perth, a club affiliated with Shamrock Rovers from Tallaght. Ciarán played in the end of the 2012 season with the Australian side and scored in nearly every game for the club. He stayed on for the 2013 season and continued his goal-scoring form, winning the Golden Boot award as Shamrock Rovers Perth came second in the league.

In February 2014, Ciarán joined Bray Wanderers. He made his debut for the Seagulls in a scoreless draw away to Limerick on the opening night of the season and scored his first goal a week later when Bray beat Sligo at the Carlisle Grounds. He went on to make six more appearances for the club before leaving in September 2014.
