Kevin’s Biography

Kevin Maher started off as youth player at Tottenham Hotspur in 1995. However, he left the club without a senior appearance in January 1998 to join Southend United. He quickly established himself in the first team and went on to be club captain at the club as they won back to back promotions in League Two and League One in 2004-05 and 2005-06. He had made over 400 appearances for Southend United before joining Gillingham on loan at the end of the 2007-08 season before leaving Southend to join Oldham Athletic in the summer of 2008.

Kevin only stayed at Oldham for one season, 2008-09, but played in 33 games whilst at the club. At the end of the season he was released and he rejoined former club Gillingham for the 2009-10 season. His first season ended badly as the club were relegated to League Two. But in the 2010-11 season, he played in nearly every game as the club missed out on the play-offs by goal difference.

Kevin joined Dagenham & Redbridge for their League Two campaign in 2011. He stayed for two seasons but didn't play many games and was released by the club at the end of the 2012-13 season. In August 2013, Kevin joined Pat Devlin's Bray Wanderers. He made his debut for the Seagulls against Drogheda United on 30 August and played six league games for Bray before joining Whitehawk FC in England in Decmeber 2013.

Although born in England, Maher is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland national football team, and made four appearances for the Republic of Ireland under-21 team.
