Peter joined St Patrick's Athletic from Leicester Celtic and played with the club's U19 side in the 2012/13 season. He scored on his senior debut of St Pats in a 3-2 EA Cup win over Salthill Devon on 20 May 2013 and also played in club's 2013 Leinster Senior Cup campaign. He was named in Liam Buckley's first team squad for the 2013 league season and made the bench as an unused substitute in three league games as Pats claimed the 2013 League title but he did not make his league debut for the Saints until 10 October 2014 when he came on as a late substitute against Drogheda United. He made 2 league appearances that season.

In December 2014 Peter signed for Alan Mathews at Bray Wanderers but he left the club in July 2015 after making just 4 league appearances and joined First Division side Cabinteely FC. Peter went onto make 7 league appearances for his new club by the end of 2015.

Peter wasn't involved in league football during 2016 but briefly returned to Cabinteely colours in June of 2017 when he made just 2 league appearances over that summer.
