David’s Biography

Ballina native David spent four seasons at English Championship side Ipswich Town before returning to Ireland in June of 2011. He played on trial at Sligo Rovers in February of 2012and signed a contract with the club shortly before the start of the season. He made his debut in a Setanta Cup game against Glentoran on 5 March 2012 and scored twice in 26 league appearances as Sligo took the 2013 League title. In 2013 David contributed six goals to Sligo's league campaign and was an unused sub when Sligo lifted the FAI Cup by beating Drogheda United 3-2 in the final.

David was nearly ever-present for Sligo during the 2014 season, missing only one of thirty-three league games, as Sligo finished fifth in the league. He stayed with Sligo for the 2015 season under Owen Heary and went on to make 30 league appearances, scoring twice in the process, as Sligo finished ninth in the Premier Division. In November 2015, Dave signed for St. Patrick's Athletic.

David's first appearance for St Pats came in a Leinster Senior Cup game against Bray Wanderers on 20 February 2016 and he went on to make 18 league appearances for the Saints that year. He also part of the squad that won the 2016 EA Cup although he did not play in the final, a 4-1 win over Limerick FC.

In December 2016, David signed for Shane Keegan at Galway United where he spent just one season, returning to Sligo Rovers ahead of the 2017 season. He played at the Showgrounds for the next seven seasons, leaving at the end of 2023.
