Shaun’s Biography

Shaun is a goalkeeper who played underage football with Donegal side Bonagee United. He was part of the Donegal 95 squad that won the Foyle Cup in 2011 and in the summer of that year he signed for Finn harps' U19 side.

Shaun made the bench for the senior side twice during Harps' 2011 First Division campaign and was part of Peter Hutton's first team squad in 2012. He made his league debut for the club on 31 March 2012, coming on as a 25th minute sub for the injured Ciaran Gallagher, and he started the following game against SD Galway. These were Shaun's only league appearances of the season but he did add 1 Cup appearance, starting in the EA Sports Cup defeat to Derry City in April. He returned to playing for the u19 squad for the 2013 season but returned to the Finn Harps senior set-up for the 2014 First Division season and went on to play 7 league games, keeping one clean sheet, as Harps finished fifth

In November 2014, Shaun signed for Derry City for the 2015 Premier Division campaign during which he made 6 league appearances as Derry finished seventh in the table. Shaun made just 8 first team appearances for Derry in 2016 and his only league appearance came against St Pats in the last match of the season. Shaun left Derry at the end of the 2016 season and signed for Dave Robertson at Sligo Rovers in December of that year.

Shaun spent just one season at the Showgrounds as Sligo narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier Division and left the club at the end of 2017 to concentrate on GAA. He was selected to the Donegal GAA panel shortly afterwards.
