Roy’s Biography
Roy came up through the underage system at Athlone Town and in January 2011 he was named in new manager, Mike Kerley's, first team squad for the coming season. He made his league debut for Athlone on 25 March 2011 in a 0-0 draw at home to Cork City and he made 14 league appearances over the season.
Injury ruined 2012 for Roy and, having sat on the bench for the opening game of the season, he was ruled out through the rest of the season. In 2013, under manager Roddy Collins, Roy made the bench four times for Athlone but did not make any league appearances and he was not named in Mick Cooke's 2014 squad.
Roy returned to Athlone Town in July 2016 and returned to league action against Limerick FC on 22 July. He made 5 league appearances that year.
