Christopher, known as CJ, was a member of the FC Carlow team that competed in the 2010 'A' Championship. They also reached the third round of the FAI Cup that year eventually losing to Monaghan United after a replay. In February 2012 Chris followed his former Carlow boss, Shane Keegan, to Wexford Youths. He made his club debut in a Leinster Senior Cup defeat to Shelbourne on 9 February and then made his league debut three weeks later in the 6-0 win over Waterford United on the opening night of the season. He went on to make 22 league appearances that year and added 11 more in 2013

CJ Left the Wexford Youths squad at the end of July 2013 but returned to the club colours ahead of the 2014 season. He only played 1 league game, being sent-off in a 3-0 defeat to Shelbourne, before once more leaving the club in August 2014.

Browne played for Thomastown United during 2017.
