Robbie’s Biography

Robbie Farrell is an experienced and well travelled striker who started out with Home Farm where he made 73 league appearances and scored 28 goals between 1996 and 2000. He signed for Longford Town at the start of the 2000/01 season and scored three league goals in 24 appearances.

For the 2001/02 season Robbie moved to Dublin City. He won a First Division title winners medal in the transitional 2003 season but midway through the 2004 season he was put on the transfer list by new boss Roddy Collins.

Robbie moved north to spend the 2004/05 Irish League season at Newry City before moving to Glenavon for the start of the 2005/06 season, by the end of which he had returned for another short spell at Newry. In the summer of 2006 he returned to the League of Ireland with Monaghan United where he stayed until the end of 2007, scoring 14 league goals in his eighteen months at Gortakeegan.

2008 saw Robbie sign for John Gill at Dundalk where he netted 11 times in 23 league games, before signing at Drogheda United for 2009. A knee operation restricted him to just one league goal at United Park and he moved on to Athlone Town in February 2010. He made 16 league appearances over the season, scoring twice, but he was not retained for the following season.
