Shamrock Rovers signed Eric on a three year contract in December 2006. He made his debut in the FAI Cup second round game away to Castlebar in late May 2006. In 2008 Eric made 18 league appearances for the Hoops but the following season, under new boss Michael O'Neill, he managed just 4 league appearances and left in the summer transfer window of 2009 to sign for Drogheda United.

Eric's Drogheda debut came on 7th August 2009 in a 1-0 home defeat to his old club Shamrock Rovers but he established himself in the Drogheda side making 11 league appearances before the season's end. In 2010 he made a further 24 league appearances and scored his only league goal for the club in a 2-1 defeat away to Sligo Rovers.

Eric left Drogheda at the end of the 2010 season and in 2013/14 he was part of Crumlin United's Leinster Senior League side. On 22 February 2014 Eric returned to the LoI when he signed for Alan Mathews at Bray Wanderers. He made his league bow for the Seagulls on the opening weekend of the season in a scoreless draw away to Limerick FC and went on to make 14 league appearances as Bray narrowly avoided the relegation play-offs. He left Bray at the end of the season.
