SECOND HALF
HALF TIME
Adam McDonnell shoots from distance but doesn't trouble Alan Mannus.
Corner Kick
Jack Byrne (Shamrock Rovers) takes a corner-kick after Garry Buckley put the ball behind.
This is a real disjointed performance from Shamrock Rovers. They really haven't settled into a rhythm in the game and Sligo Rovers have been the better team so far.
Sligo Rovers' Adam McDonnell's cross requires Sean Kavanagh to get his head on to save the Hoops.
Not the prettiest game of ball here tonight. Very strong breeze blowing at the backs of Sligo Rovers as they attack the Square end of the ground.
I've changed my mind it is a fluid back four for Sligo with a narrow diamond formation in middle and two up top.
Jordan Hamilton races onto a Greg Bolger ball but referee's assistant Michelle O'Neill has her flag up.
Alan Mannus is 40 in ten days time. Richard Brush - who had three spells here in Tallaght is 37-years-old.
Corner Kick
Adam McDonnell (Sligo Rovers) takes a corner-kick from the left but it goes straight into Alan Mannus' hands.
Visitors almost take the lead as Robbie McCourt skips by Sean Hoare and only a very timely interception by Sean Kavanagh took the ball off Max Mata's toe for a corner.
Liam Buckley has changed things up and has gone with a back three. Garry Buckley, Nando Pijnaker and Robbie McCourt across the back. Jordan Hamilton and Max Mata are up top together.
Sean Kavanagh is playing left of the Hoops back three. Barry Cotter right wing back and Neil Farrugia left wing back.
GAME ON!
Vinny Perth and Gary Rogers amongst the interested spectators here in Tallaght tonight. Hoops four in a row winner John Coady also here along with Stephen Rice.
Derek Tomney is tonight's match referee. He will officiate over the coin toss between the two captains. Pico Lopes has the Hoops armband and former Shamrock Rovers player Greg Bolger will skipper the visitors.
The only other game tonight is between the two other League of Ireland teams playing in Europe this season. Derry City are hosting St. Patrick's Athletic and that has a 7.45pm kick off. Kick off here in Tallaght Stadium is 8pm.
The Hoops have made seven changes for this evening's game from the 3-1 win over Finn Harps. Only Alan Mannus, Sean Kavanagh, Jack Byrne and Pico Lopes (who skippers the team) remain.
Five changes for the visitors with goalscorer from Sligo Rovers' 2-1 defeat to Shelbourne in Tolka Park Paddy Kirk only on the bench tonight. David Cawley and Mark Byrne don't make the match day squad. The two goalscorers - Adam Keena and Will Fitzgerald - from the 2-2 draw here between the teams earlier in the season drop to the bench.
Liam Buckley: “We have played Shamrock Rovers twice now so far this season and this game comes quickly after the last game just over a week ago so we are both well aware of each other and we know both sides have been fairly evenly matched so far in the previous games.
When the teams played last in Tallaght, the visitors raced into a 2-0 lead only to be pegged back with the game finishing 2-2. Ten days ago it was the Hoops who lost a lead. Andy Lyons put the Hoops up at the break and Jordan Hamilton equalised in the second half.
Good evening from a blustery and grey Tallaght Stadium. Macdara Ferris ( @macdarabueller ) to take you through the action as Shamrock Rovers play Sligo Rovers for the second time in 10 days. This fixture has been moved forward to free up the weekend for both clubs between the first and second leg of their European games in July.
