MATCH INFO
Competition: 2022 League of Ireland Premier Division
Date: 7:45 p.m. June 17, 2022
Venue: Dalymount Park
Referee: Sean Grant
Attendance: Unknown
Thats it from Patrick O' Connor at Dalymount Park, hope you enjoyed the live updates !!!
Bohs claim the three points and probably derervedly so over the course of the 96 minutes. They started well but went into their shell somewhat after their goal in the 12th minute. They did not press on to get the second goal and allowed Shels to come back strongly .
Bohs were also very effective defensively after the 53rd minute red carding of Ciaran Kelly and they only allowed Shels some half chances which Tadgh Ryan dealt with very well in the absence of James Talbot..
Shels for their part certainly suffered for not having a target man at no.9. Jack Moylan filled that role but he is a lot more comfortable operating as a no. 10.
They did pile on the pressure with the man advantage but were never clinical in front of goal an paid the ultimate price for it by conceding the three points.
FULL TIME!
Substitution
A Bohs player is down injured, the break in play will certainly give them a breather
FULL TIME!

Substitution
Substitution
Substitution
Shels work it to Farrell on the left touchline , his floated cross is too high and goes straight over the bar, another wasted chance for Duff's side
Shels have 10 minutes to try to take advantage of their extra man and get an equaliser, so far Bohs are able to contain all of their attacks
Yellow Card
Bohs are camped in their own half since the sending off, they look like they are trying to hold out with the 10 men and perhaps rely on a quick break to get an insurance second goal
Substitution
Substitution
Yellow Card
Shels very much on top since the sending off , they have a lots of possession but so far not really threatening the Bohs goal
Stoppage in play as Finnerty is injured , he emerges with a bandage around his head but is ok to continue
Tadhg Ryan is now down injured for Bohs after making a save ,he is ok to continue though
Substitution
A loose pass by Flores forces Kelly to take down Farrell, he gets a red card while Shels have a feree kick but it sails high and wide
Red Card
Corner to Bohs
Quick break by Shels , Moylan and Dervin both have shots on goal but the ball goes wide
First free of the second period to Shels, Griffin gets a head to it but Ryan easily gathers the ball
SECOND HALF
Bohs lead 1-0 at the break, just about deserved after their positive start to the game. Shels dominated the game in the latter stages of the half without ever really testing Tadhg Ryan in goals.
The game is not a typical Dublin derby and even the crowd has been relatively subdued for most of the game.
Lets hope for a bit more intensity in the second half.
HALF TIME
2 mins added time
Kane fouls Coote on the edge of the box, free kick to Bohs in a great position. The ball is handled by Farrell and they have a second free kick which bounces off the wall and is cleared
Yellow Card
Shels have come into the game a lot more and are now dominating posession and creating some chances
Great passing move by Shels, Hadiki does well to break from midfield and release Moylan but he is bustled off the ball and unbalanced as he shoots over the bar
The game has been very stop start , and is certainly lacking the intensity of a Dublin derby.
Shels have plenty of possession but they seem short of ideas up front and are certainly lacking the physical presence of Sean Boyd at no 9.
Another corner for Shels after Dervin's shot is deflected, again they lack aeriel power in the box and Bohs easily clear the free kick
Shels respond to the goal with a good move of there own and win a corner but the header from Lunney is well over the bar
JJ Lunney loses possession easily outside the box, Devoy snaps up the loose ball and fires past Clarke at his near post, good shot but Clarke will not be happy with his effort
GOAL!
Yellow Card
Burt shoots from inside the box and draws a good save from Clarke, the first shot in anger so far.
Overall a fairly tame start to the match, nothing of note had happened in the opening 7 mins
Free to Shels after Murphy fouled Hadiki, they are not able to make anything of it and Bohs clear their lines
GAME ON!
10 mins to kick off here, looks like close to a full house which is to be expected for a Dublin derby.
Cracking atmosphere inside the ground, lets hope the game lives up to expectations.
Shelbourne have lost goalkeeper Lewis Webb this week( his loan period is up ), so they have two rookie keepers on the bench, Colm Cox and Jack McCarthy.
Leading scorer Sean Boyd is suspended so they appear to be playing without on orthodox no 9, the other centre forward Dan Carr starts on the bench.
They also include two of their U- 17 squad on the bench,Gavin Hodgkins and Lewis Temple
A few interesting changes in the Bohs line up tonight. Tadhg Ryan starts in goals instead of the injured James Talbot while Conor Livingstone appears to be lining out at left back instead of the suspended Tyreke Wilson.
Its a perfect evening for football in Dublin 7, no wind or rain although the playing surface does look very parched as a result of the dry spell of weather the country has enjoyed this week.
It is being sprinkled so lets hope it does not impact the quality of football being played tonight
Hello and good evening from Dalymount Park, I'm Patrick O Connor and i'll be bringing you live updates on this evening's Dublin derby match, Boheminas v Shelbourne.
