FULL TIME!
Yellow Card
Yellow Card
4 mins added time
A loose pass by Dervin leads to a quick breakaway attack by Rovers, the ball ends up with Greene who shows great composure to rifle the ball past Clarke, a great goal from the sub who is only on the pitch 5 minutes.
GOAL!
Substitution
Substitution
Substitution
Boyd makes an immediate impact, he is through on goal but is hauled down by Grace who picks up a yellow card- the resultant free kick is cleared by Rovers who now suddely are the team on the back foot.
Yellow Card
Substitution
Substitution
Graham Burke is down injured, looks lime he is coming off.
Substitution
Corner to Shels but its cleared by Rovers - Shels have really upped their game since that equalising goal
Snap shot by Graham Burke goes well wide
Yellow Card
Suddenly Shels have come alive and are putting serious pressure on Rovers
Against the run of play, Shels break quickly through Ledwidge and his cross is pin point and allows Farrell smash it past Mannus, very much game on here now.
ASSIST!
GOAL!
Substitution
Dan Hawkins - Jordan McEneff (Shelbourne).
Substitution
Shane Griffin - Conor Kane (Shelbourne).
The early stages of the second period has Rovers still very much on top of the possession stakes with the home side struggling to build any momentum
SECOND HALF
Rovers lead 1-0 at the break but given their utter dominance of their performance they should be out of sight at this stage. Some good saves by Clarke coupled with a lot of last ditch defending by Shelbourne has kept them in the game, at least as far as the scoreline is concerned
HALF TIME
Corner to Shels, an opportunity to create something before the break but they make a hash of it and fail to get the ball into the danger area.
Yet another fantastic passage of play from Rovers, Lyons is put through again by Towell but his chipped effort is just wide
Another great move by Rovers , this time Jack Burkes shot is on target and Clarke is forced to make a full length save
Almost a second for Rovers , Lyons fires it across the box and Gaffney's outstretched leg just fails to connect with the ball.
Shels manage to get into Rovers half but cant fashion a shot on goal.
Yellow Card
Great passing move by Rovers, it ends with a shot from Gaffney but its well over the bar.
Still very comfortable for Rovers, they are building a lot of their attacks down the right wing through Graham Burke and Finn and in general look very threatening.
Shels have not to grips with the game at all yet which is surprising given they have home advantage.
Rovers dominating possession here, they just worked the ball to Burke who has a shot that is saved by Clarke.
Shels build a decent attack but Carr's shot carroes no power and Mannus gathers easily.
Its all Rovers here at the early stages
ASSIST!
Rovers score from their very first attack, Towell is allowed waltz through the Shels defence and set up the overlapping Andy Lyons for a clear strike on goal, Clarke had no chance. Thats three goals in two games for Lyons, not bad for a wing back.
GOAL!
GAME ON!
15 minutes to kick off , its a dry, bright, calm evening at Tolka Park and the pitch looks to be in good condition.
This game is a sell out, fans who do not have a ticket have been asked not to arrive at the turnstiles as they wont be admitted- with a full house it should be a cracking atmosphere here this evening.
There is one change in the Shamrock Rovers starting team from their 3-0 away win at Finn Harps last weekend, Sean Gannon starts instead of Robert Lopes who is also not listed on the subs bench.
The Shelbourne team has been announced and not surprisingly its the same starting eleven which defeated Sligo Rovers 1-0 last weekend.
Shane Griffin returns from a lengthy injury and takes his place on the bench.
Good evening and welcome to Tolka Park for the eagerly awaited Dublin derby match between Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers.
I'm Patrick O' Connor and i'll bring you all the live action as it happens this evening.
