Yellow Card
John Caulfield went straight over to the officials at the final whistle to express his frustration. His side did not do enough to win at all. Given the level of control they had in the first half, the fact that they sat back so much invited the pressure on themselves.
FULL TIME!
Massive win here for Longford!
Yellow Card
One of the bench gets a booking for his words towards the officials
Substitution
Good first touch for Francely Lomboto to set up his strike partner Adeyemo. He sets himself up for a shot but it is blocked by McDonnell.
Substitution
Aaron Robinson gets a warning from the referee after he catches Killian Brouder late.
A huge ten or so minutes to go here. It would be a massive coup for Longford to win.
Graydon chances his luck from about 25 yards. He is always leaning back and drifts wide.
ASSIST!
GOAL!
Darren Craven (Longford Town) scores.
The home side lead! Sub Callum Warfield puts himself about after a long ball forward by Dennison. Craven runs onto it and lashes it past Kearns.
Substitution
The captain is forced to leave the pitch.
Verdon looks to have taken a knock as he is down near the half-way line trying to catch his breath.
Chance for Galway from another McCormack free kick. The free header from Lyons goes over the bar though.
Substitution
Yellow Card
A bit of a melee in the Longford penalty area after a ball is not properly cleared away. Stephen Walsh goes down inside the box, but is booked for simulation.
Killian Brouder beats his man to a Conor McCormack free kick after Barnett gave away a foul. Dennison is able to claim it without too much strife.
Substitution
Substitution
Stephen Walsh is down at the moment after a coming together with McDonnell. He looks okay to continue though
Galway were caught out there. Longford break from a set-piece and Graydon takes it on. He runs into space and looks set to have a shot. Conor O' Keeffe is there to put a halt to it with an assured block.
SECOND HALF
HALF TIME
ASSIST!
GOAL!
Well, well....an equaliser for the home side and just before the break. Yet again there is poor defending to blame for it. Craven plays a hopeful ball towards left flank which is not really dealt with by Charlie Lyons. Ryan Gradon instercepts and chips the ball into the penalty area. Sam Verdon is there to bundle the ball into the net. Kearns is furious as he claims that the forward used his hand. One all though.
The home fans scream for a penalty as another free is crossed into the box. The referee is not interested
That was right on the edge of the area. Craven gets a push in the back and a set-piece for Longford. McMenamy takes it and Kearns is forced to tip it over the bar. The resulting corner is poor though.
Galway win a corner which is taken by Conor McCormack. Well taken by Luke Dennison
Yellow Card
Shane Elworthy (Longford Town) is booked.
Shane Elworthy is stretching in midfield and catches Mikie Rowe late. Frustration creeping into the home players you feel
Plenty of numbers up there still for Longford but that is wasted again. McManemy has enough time to play the ball down the flank into Barnett. It goes straight out though.
Galway have a short period of possession which leads to a cross by Ed McCarthy into Wilson Waweru. He is adjudged to be pushing the back of Dylan Barnett though.
The game has gotten scrappy, especially in the middle of the field. Galway will be the happier of the two. There is no need for them to chase the game I can't imagine John Caulfield is entirely satisfied though.
Longford are seeing enough of the ball, but they need to inject a degree of pace into matters. Darren Craven does have a half-chance outside the area which is cleared away.
Longford are struggling to create chances at the moment but Conor Kearns is forced into a good save just now.
OWN GOAL!
OWN GOAL!
Michael McDonnell (Longford Town) scores an own-goal!
Well that is a disaster for the home side. The ball is played back to Dennison with a Waweru lurking around. It is played out to Michael McDonnell who returns it to the keeper. Except it goes into his own net.
Galway have the ball into the Longford net but it is ruled to be offside. All came from that free-kick. Charlie Lyons was the man with the final touch.
Yellow Card
Dean McMenamy (Longford Town) is booked.
That is a late challenge from Dean McMenamy on Ed McCarthy. He is lucky to just get a yellow card.
No real attempts of note so far from either side.
GAME ON!
Galway make three changes from the away win to Athlone Town last weekend. Stephen Walsh, Charlie Lyons and Max Hemmings come into the side. Diego Portillo, Jordan Ademeyo drop to the bench. Alex Murphy is missing due to inury.
Longford are unchanged from a 3-0 win against Wexford.
