GALWAY

The Tribeswomen will be looking to return to winning ways on Saturday when they host Treaty United at Eamonn Deacy Park in the Women’s National League (kick-off 4pm).

Stephen Lally’s side were two games unbeaten before they met DLR Waves two weeks ago with the Dublin side exacting revenge having been dumped out of the FAI Cup by Galway earlier this season.

Waves ran out 2-0 winners at the UCD Bowl thanks to a quickfire double from Jetta Berrill and Rachel Doyle in the first half to claim the three points.

That’s two games in a row that Galway have failed to score in which is contributing to a worrying trend with the side having not scored in three out of their last four fixtures.

It’s definitely not a case of Galway not being able to score with a spectacular performance in front of goal coming against Cork during this previous stretch of games that saw the Tribeswomen net six times.

With a tough fixture against Wexford Youths coming up next week and then the all important FAI Cup semi-final with Shelbourne in a fortnight Galway will need to get those shooting boots on, and they’ll have to start trying to make something work in front of goal against Treaty United this Saturday.

TREATY UNITED

Niall Connolly’s side are on a tough run of form at this point of the season, and they currently find themselves at the bottom of the WNL table.

With five games to go every weekend is a big one for the Limerick side who, despite their struggles of late, have shown that they can secure results throughout the season.

A win on Saturday would take them above Cork City and off the bottom of the table and there’s still a chance that they could move comfortably into mid-table although their run in to the end of the season features both Peamount United and Shelbourne who are vying for the WNL title.

Treaty will take confidence from the last time they faced Galway with the side playing put a 2-2 draw in Limerick.

Galway strolled out in front with a two-goal lead but a late flurry from United saw Gillian Keenan and Jenna Slattery score in the last five minutes to claim a draw.

That sort of determination has been evident throughout Treaty United’s season and they could be a tough team to secure a victory once again when they face Galway on the banks of the Corrib tomorrow afternoon.
