Live Updates for Waterford -v- Dundalk

90' + 4'

FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Waterford and Dundalk.

90' + 4'

Another long throw and that's cleared for a corner with added time all but up.

90' + 3'

Substitution

Mark Hanratty  - Daniel Kelly  (Dundalk).

90' + 2'

A long throw from Greg Halford that Dundalk eventually get out for another Blues throw. That's scrambled away for another throw... right into the area which Hoban gets away.

90' + 1'

A free for Dundalk that Will Patching launches into the Waterford area. It's headed down and then cleared,

90'

There will be four minutes added at the end of the game.

87'

A moment of panic for the Blues support as Pat Hoban finds himself through on goal. Brian Murphy did superbly to save with his legs, and the flag had gone up too. But there were some hearts under stress there.

86'

Just five minutes to go and Waterford are the team very much on the front foot. You'd guess that Dundalk would be happy for the final whistle now.

84'

Junior's corner is headed away by Hoban and Waterford get another opportunity to send the ball into the Dundalk box. This time it's easily cleared and the pressure on Dundalk lets u for a moment.

83'

Substitution

Mayowa Animasahun  - Sean Murray  (Dundalk).

82'

Another free for Waterford. This time it's wide on the left after Patterson is clipped. Griffin whips it in and Abibi gets a slight touch. It comes to Junior on the right and again Abibi punches away the cross. Great tempo to the game now and the home support are rocking.

81'

Yellow Card

Han Jeongwoo (Dundalk) is booked.

80'

Waterford have turned their game around and Shane Griffin has just fizzed a free kick across the six-yard box and wide of the Dundalk goal.

79'

Substitution

Han Jeongwoo  - Sami Ben Amar  (Dundalk).

77'

GOAL!

Anthony Wordsworth (Waterford) scores. Shane Griffin floated a free in from deep and while Greg Sloggett hesitated over the clearance Wordsworth dived into the melee to head it over the line.

76'

Maybe it was the introduction of Greg Halford - who has gone up front with John Martin - but suddenly Waterford are all over this game. Excellent play by Junior Quitirna who runs at the Dundalk defence and then battles for possession when the ball is lost.

74'

Yellow Card

Andy Boyle (Dundalk) is booked.

74'

Oh, Dundalk should be home and hosed. A ball comes across the box to Sami Ben Amar whose header from six yards out is somehow kept out by Brian Murphy.

73'

Substitution

Greg Halford  - Niall O'Keeffe  (Waterford).

72'

John Martin loops a header on target for Waterford but it is the easiest save Alessio Abibi will make this season. Still, beggars can't be choosers, as they say.

71'

Another poor pass, this time from a Waterford player, sends Pat Hoban away down the left for the visitors. He gets closed down by two Waterford defenders but it wouldn't be a huge surprise if this game is ended by an error.

69'

Oh dear, that's a very poor cross-field ball from Pat Hoban that bounce out of play. Both teams are struggling to make their passing stick now and just when the game needs some intensity, it's actually going the other way.

63'

With Kavanagh making way for Quitirna it's John Martin who moves into the central striker's role. Let's see if this can give Waterford the edge they need up front against a Dundalk defence that hasn't been caused too many problems up to now.

62'

Substitution

Junior Quitirna  - Cian Kavanagh  (Waterford).

61'

A long ball forward for John Martin but it rolls over the end line for a goal kick. Martin has been very quiet tonight.

59'

It's been an even game in the second half, each team giving as good as they get. With half an hour to go it could still go either way.

53'

Eddie Nolan lifts a ball over the top of the Dundalk back-line which is headed behind for a corner. Milambo then floats in a cross that Abibi punches clear but only as far as Phoenix Patterson who drives a shot narrlowly wide of the Dundalk goal.

50'

A yellow for Dan Cleary after he cleaned out youg Phoenix Patterson. Both Niall O'Keeffe and Pat Hoban were booked in the aftermath as both teams squared up to each othe. After all that fuss Shane Griffin wastes the free and sends it straight into the arms of Abibi.

49'

Yellow Card

Patrick Hoban (Dundalk) is booked.

49'

Yellow Card

Niall O'Keeffe (Waterford) is booked.

48'

Yellow Card

Daniel Cleary (Dundalk) is booked.

47'

Great pace from Daniel Kelly as he shoots past the Waterford defence but when he gets behind his cross is cleared by Jeremie Milambo.

46'

Substitution

Anthony Wordsworth  - Cameron Evans  (Waterford).

46'

SECOND HALF

The second half between Waterford and Dundalk has started.

45' + 4'

HALF TIME

It is half-time between Waterford and Dundalk.

45' + 4'

That was a very scrappy scenario there as Waterford's free was driven low into a group of Dundalk defenders who struggled to clear. The ball came back across into the Dundalk area and a bout of head tennis aloowed the Blues a third stab at getting a decent ball in. They failed. It ran out for a goal kick and moments later the half-time whistle sounded.

45' + 3'

Cian Kavanagh is taken dow just outside the penalty area wide on the right so Waterford will finish the half with a set piece.

45'

There will be four minutes added at the end of the half.

43'

Sean Murray pings in a corner from the left that Brian Murphy punches away. Just a couple of minutes til half time and you'd imagine Marc Bircham will be trying to get his side a bit more fired up during the break.

40'

Sub, Jeremie Milambo gets a cross in from the left wing which is too close to Dundalk keeper Alessio Abibi. Stafford has been excellent for the Blues over the past month or so, so The sub has beig shoes to fill.

36'

That injury to Jack Stafford has ended his evening after just 35 minutes. Jeremie Milambo comes in in his place.

36'

Substitution

Jeremie Milambo  - Jack Stafford  (Waterford).

34'

An injury to Jack Stafford means he has to go off temporarily, leaving Waterford with only ten men on the pitch.

31'

A very swift break by Dundalk, started by Daniel Kelly who fed Pat Hoban in a central position. He picked out the run of Sean Murray with a diagonal pass that was perfectly weighted. But Cameron Evans was there to put in a vital challenge that took the ball off Murray's toe.

28'

Waterford's play is too disjointed for them to be putting Dundalk under any real pressure. There are passes going astray and then good passes being miscontrolled. They need to get a bit of fluidity into their game as Dundalk are in charge at the moment.

27'

Will Patching with a shot for Dundalk off a throw in on the left, but it never really troubled Brian Murphy in the Blues' goal, sailing high over the crossbar.

22'

I would have expected Phoenix Patterson to play on the wide left for Waterford but he's playing more centrally with left full back, Jack Stafford, taking the entire left flank.

21'

Sam Stanton fires in a shot from distance which Brian Murphy fumbled in the Waterford goal. But there was no Dundalk attacker on hand to take advantage and the home side tidy the situation up.

19'

Dundalk's high press is working well for them. With Eddie Nolan in central defence teh Blues have a calm head who can handle pressure on the ball but a couple of errors have already been forced and there's a feeling that there's another mistake in this Blues defence if Dundalk continue to press as they have done.

17'

Better from Waterford who break down their right through Darragh Power. His cross sails towards the far post where Jack Stafford got on the end of it, but his control wasn't good enough and the ball cannons off him and over the line for a goal kick.

13'

A burst of positive play after a delay in play due to Sami Ben Amar recieving a knock. Waterford put Dundalk under some pressure but couldn't get a shot away and then the visitors broke only for that to hit the rcks when Pat Hoban was fouled. Signs of better things to come perhaps.

8'

It's early yet but Dundalk deserve their lead. They have looked the most progressive and they're doing all the probing. Waterford haven't got going yet.

5'

GOAL!

Sean Murray (Dundalk) scores. An awful goal from Waterford's point of view. A daigonal ball found Daniel Kelly on Dundalk's right flank and he jinked his way into the box before poking a ball through which really should have been cleared. But Murray was there to finish from close range.

2'

Kyle Ferguson stumbles over the ball when the Blues were trying to play ball out of defence. It looked like he fouled Pat Hoban in trying to recover but no whistle from the ref and Cameron Evans stepped in to tidy up.
