WEXFORD YOUTHS
Youths welcome Galway for the first time this season in the Women’s National League when the west of Ireland side travel to Ferrycarraig Park on Daturday evening (kick-off 6.30pm).
Tom Elmes side will be rested after being off mid-week as they received a bye in the last round of fixtures held on Wednesday evening.
They will have been surprised by the resilience of newcomers Athlone Town last Saturday when it took over 70 minutes for the current WFAI Cup Champions to score.
Aisling Frawley scored to secure the three points for Wexford against a well drilled Athlone Town team.
With two wins to their name so far this season, Wexford will be looking to add a third in order to keep pace with the top sides in the WNL.
With Wexford having such a good record against Galway over the past few years they will be hoping to continue that run and nab the three points in the process.
GALWAY
After a tough opening day draw with DLR Waves, Billy Clery’s side have recovered and won twice on the bounce in the last week to rise to second in the Women’s National League table.
The Galway Girls won 4-1 against Bohemians last weekend and Lynsey McKey netted a hat-trick during their midweek game against Athlone Town to secure another three points.
Galway have a poor record against Wexford, but it’s a new season and Billy Clery will be looking to send a message to the rest of the WNL with a win on Saturday evening.
