LONGFORD TOWN

Longford will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they welcome Wexford to Bishopsgate on Monday. (KO 7:45PM).

Daire Doyle’s side have lost their last two games, away to Cobh Ramblers and home to league leaders Cabinteely.

The Cobh loss made it three defeats for the Middlanders this season and Town boss Doyle will know that his team can’t afford to pick up many more if they’re to be in the race for promotion come the end of this shortened season.

WEXFORD

Wexford will be looking to bounce back from their FAI Cup exit to Athlone Town when they visit the Middlands once again on Monday night.

Despite racing in to a two goal lead through goals from Jack Doherty and Conor English after 19 minutes at the Athlone Stadium, Wexford let Athlone back into the game and the home side forced the game into extra-time.

Brian O’Sullivan’s side went onto concede twice more before ultimately losing 5-3.

The defeat means that Wexford have now gone five games without a win.

Those games saw Wexford succumb to defeats against Cobh, Athlone, Drogheda and Shamrock Rovers II as well as a 0-0 draw with Cabinteely.
