The game has ended between Derry City and Sligo Rovers. A surprising first win of the seaon for Sligo Rovers against an under par Derry City at the Brandywell. A first half header from Kyle Callan-McFadden and a second half penalty from Ronan Coughlan gives Sligo all three points. Competitive live football is back folks. Mallon's ball in behind to Figueira is headed away for a corner by McFadden. The resulting corner is dealt with.
Figueira continuing to battle for evrything in the forward areas for Derry as they continue to up the pressure.
Donelon eventually clears after a goal mouth scramble in the Sligo box.
Noone narrowly misses out on scoring an own goal, as Figueira's cross from the right is put narrowly wide of his own post by the Sligo defender.
Derry have gonto a back three with Coll, McCrystal and Toal making up the three. McCormack has moved into midfield.
Great chance for Derry, as Bruna latches ontoa loose ball after an error by McGinty, but his 20 yard lob goes over the Sligo cross-bar.
Seymore plays a one-two with Coughlan, but Malone comes out and wins the ball back for Derry.
McCormack plays a long ball in behind, but McGinty beats Figueira to the loose ball.
Derry starting to put more pressure on Sligo. No real chances so far though.
McCrystal's volley goes wide after he got ontoa loose ball after Ed McGinty failed to deal with Gerardo Bruna's free kick.

Coughlan is fouled in the area by Eoin Toal as Devers crossed from the right.
Rónán Coughlan scores for Sligo Rovers from the penalty spot. Toal pushes Devers off the ball in the penalty area, McLuaghlin points to the spot and Coughlan dispatches the resulting spot kick.

McCrystal gets back to clear after Seymore disposessed Clifford and put a high ball in behind.
Cawley wins a corner after some good work down the right. Sligo on top early on in this second half.
Toal clears up at the back for Derry after DeVries got the better of McCormack.
It is half-time between Derry City and Sligo Rovers. A little bit of action just before the break, as Ronan Coughlan went down in the box after a good run, Paul McLaughin waved play on though. Sligo one a corner. Donelone whipped the corner into a similar area to the goal, but this time it went over McFadden's head and the referee blew for half time.
Cawley nicks the ball off Bruna and plays a ball towards Coughlan on the left, but the pass goes out for a throw.
Noone's clearance goes straight to Mallon, he crosses low towards Harkin, but McGinty gets there first.
Mallon influential down the left once again, but this time his cross goes wide of McGinty's goal.
McCormack's effort is blocked behind for a corner after good work down the left by Mallon
Figuiera does well to beat McFadden, but the defender recovers to block the Derry forward's effort. The resulting corner is headed towards Gilchrist, but his volley goes well over from six yards.
Sligo have played alot better since they opened the scoring. Their short passing has been much improved, especially in the centre of the pitch.
Clifford plays a 30 yard pass over the top, Harkin runs onto it, but is adjudged to be off-side. Clifford's ball in behind could be a route to an equaliser for City.
Sligo have plenty of ideas for their set-pieces. This time Donelon pulls the ball back to Buckley on the edge of the box, but the ex-Cork City man fires over from 25 yards.
Coughlan is found out on the left, cuts inside and shoots goalwards, only for Toal to block the effort.
Will Semore has impressed for Sligo. His range of passing could really give Sligo a new pattern of play.
The goal probably came against the run of play. Perhaps now we'll have a better game.
Kyle McFadden scores for Sligo Rovers. Sligo win a corner off McFadden. Regan Donelon whips in the resulting corner, which McFadden meets and heads powerfuly into Cherrie's top corner.
De Vries receives a ball out on the left, cuts inside and shoots, but Cherrie claims the soft shot with ease.
A low sun at the Brandywell this evening means that Ed McGinty needs to wear a cap.
Derry have played the better football so far. City have managed to put strings of passes together on more than one occassion.
Clifford plays a 20 yard diagonal ball to Mallon, but he runs the ball out of play.
Mallon wins a corner for Derry, but Bruna's resulting corner goes over everyone and goes for a Sligo throw on the far side.
Mallon's long throw is flicked towards the Sligo goal but is cleared by the Bit O'Red.
Game being played at a fast pace so far. Gilchrist goes down after a challenge with Coughlan, but after some treatement he returns to the pitch.

Kick-off is just over 35 minutes away. We have Derry City's lineup for you. A couple of noticable omissions including Darren Cole we thought may return to the squad tonight following his recovery from an ACL injury. Manager Declan Devine obviously believes that he needs more time before he's ready.
Still waiting on full team news here. However, we have been told that Alex Cooper, Lewis Banks and Teemu Penninkangas will all miss out for Sligo due to injury.
