LIMERICK
Bottom of the table Limerick continue their search for their first win of the League season when they welcome an inconsistent Derry City at Jackman Park.
The Blues have now failed to win any of their opening eight League games, following Fridays 3-2 defeat against Galway United. The performance was extremely poor at times with Galway given plenty of opportunities to take the spoils.
A first goal for Vinny Faherty proved to be a consolation, though perhaps it may warrant a starting place, with Dean Clarke having impressed on the right wing. Meanwhile Tony Whitehead should continue at centre-half, as secondary school student Paudie O’Connor featured in yesterdays U19 game.
Shane Duggan, who was only introduced during the second half in Eamonn Deacy Park may be in line for a start, while Shane Tracy went off looking rather tired after playing his first game for the Blues since the closing game of the 2014 season.
DERRY CITY
Already settling into mid-table, Peter Hutton will be hoping that recent draws against Shamrock Rovers and Bray can be turned into a win on Shannonside.
The lack of goals in the side has been frustrating for fans, with only one goal coming on their travels.
Hutton couldn’t call upon Stephen Dooley or Joshua Daniels on Friday as well as ex-Blue Shaun Kelly. Kelly, who was sent off for Limerick in his most recent appearance at Jackman Park, looks set to miss out once more.
Ryan McBride will be suspended following his late dismissal against Bray.
Derry face a 660km round trip as they go in search of their third away win since July.
