Live Updates for Dundalk -v- Sporting Fingal

Updates by

94'

FULL TIME!

All over here as the game petered out after the 10 a side affair.

90'
3 mins to add

83'

Yellow Card

Dundalk's Steven Lennon gets booked for finishing to the net after he had been blown up for being offside.

78'
Dundalk haven't given up here and are giving it a rare old go to get back in to the match.

75'
Glorious cross field ball by Burns to pick out Maher, his cross just evades everyone again.

73'

Substitution

Fingal Sub - Keith Quinn replaces Glen Crowe.

70'

Yellow Card

Fingal defender Colin Hawkins is booked.

68'

Red Card

Del boy has just evened things up here. Stephen Maher went into a challenge with Ger O'Brien and a free was awarded to the Dundalk man. As he went to get the ball O'Brien barged at him. Again, illegal, but no real need for a red.

65'
Faz Kuduzovic delivers a free into the Sporting box where Stephen Maher fizzes a header wide of the angle of post and bar from 12 yards.

58'

Red Card

It's been a bad five minutes for Dundalk! First they go two goals down and then Ross Gaynor is shown a straight red for a late challenge on Conan Byrne. It was late but were not talking high or with studs. I think Del Boy Tomney has made a bit of a plonker of himself with that one.

58'

Substitution

Dundalk Sub - Steven Lennon comes on for Nathan Murphy. Wayne Hatswell moves to full back and Tom Miller moves to centre half.

55'

GOAL!

Incisive stuff from Sporting as Ronan Finn gets on the end of a Gary O'Neill touch after Dundalk had been opened up. Finn thrashed home from the edge of the box.

51'
Lovely bit of work by McFaul as he nutmegs Bennett in the middle of the park and then slots a great ball into the inside left channel for Crowe who crosses where Murphy taps behind for a corner.

49'
The first chance of second half comes courtesy of a Ross Gaynor free from 40 yards. It was swung into the far post where Wayne Hatswell headed down but just wide.

46'

SECOND HALF

The teams back out and they are underway for the curtain closing half here this season.

45'
On the stroke of half time Bennett wins a block tackle on the edge of the box gets up and picks up the ball and 1 on 1 with Clarke 12 yards out decides to cross and it is cleared.

45'

HALF TIME

Advantage Sporting but don't rule out the home team yet. I see more goals in this which of course means we all may as well go hame now as the second half will dwindle away into boredom!

44'
Colm Crosson has just brought round the half time teas I could kiss him! But as we are both heterosexual and neither of us are French I decide not to.

42'

Yellow Card

Fingal defender Kenny Browne ploughs late into Stephen Maher and gets carded.

37'

Yellow Card

Faz Kuduzovic goes into the book for a crime known to very few in Oriel. A corner was awarded to Sporting and the linesman Mark Gavin called ref Del Boy Tomney over for a word. The result was that the mild mannered Bosnian was booked. Fingal's Colin Hawkins then missed with a free header from the corner.

32'

GOAL!

Shaun Williams opens the scoring for Fingal after Peter Cherrie had tipped a long range effort by Ronan Finn out for a corner. Conan Byrne chucked it in at the far post where Glen Crowe had lost his marker and he headed back across goal where Williams half volleyed home from about 8 yards.

28'
Close call for Sporting Byrne whips in a cross O'Neill steps over it at the near post and all on his own at the back post and presumably taken by surprise at the back post Crowe missed the ball.

26'
Maher is having a lovely game and showing what Dundalk have been missing whilst he has been out.

21'
Maher skins Fitzgerald down the right and crosses for Tipton who can't turn home.

20'
Faz gets to face Clarke after some beautiful Dundalk passing but the keeper does well, stands up and blocks the shot. The corner comes to nothing.

17'
O'Neill has the pace to trouble the aged Dundalk centre half pairing this evening and they are going to have to watch his runs onto balls over the top very closely.

11'
Long range Finn effort sails over, he must be reading comic books to think that was going in!

8'
Nearly the opener for Dundalk. Gaynor rescued a misplaced Faz pass and threw in a lovely low cross which just evaded Miller and Madden.

6'

Yellow Card

Shaun Williams of Sporting trips Simon Madden as he makes inroads down the Dundalk right and gets the first yellow of the night. Welcome back Shaun. Ross Gaynor whips in the free but its an easy catch for Brendan Clarke.

4'
It's been a fairly low key start. Conan Byrne is trying to expolit the space outside yound Nathan Murphy and it almost paid off but he tried to turn him one time too many and lost out.

0'
Welcome to Oriel Park people, the team line-ups are now available and your reporter for the evening is the one and only Emmet Maloney!

0'
Evening all as Pc Dixon used to mutter, welcome to Oriel for the last time this season and thanks for your company during the season. Sean Kelly is out with tonsilitis so Nathan Murphy will fill the left back slot. The expected Sporting absentees are all absent. Both teams want the points here so it should be a good un. The rain is falling so the artificial surface should nave a zip to it.

0'
The teams are just coming out so we'll be underway shortly.

0'
An immaculately observed minutes silence before kick off, Dundalk to attack the Carrick Rd end in the first half.
