PENALTY SHOOT-OUT

We will now have a penalty shoot-out between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk.

118'

Two minutes left, it could be penalties after all, Dundalk in possession.

114'

Pinball in the Dundalk box. Rogers caught out of position as a ball finds a player in black out right, the cross-come shot is batted away, Shields has a chance to clear and slickes it. Finally cleared, some game management needed to get settle the nerves.

111'

Dundalk are sitting deep as Sheriff gather their last charges. While they haven't looked like making a breakthrough, Dundalk have relented in their efforts. It's gutsy if either side is thinking of playing for penalties,

109'

Sheriff finishing strong: a cross from the left bobbled dangerously and Kelly does well to get back and poke it out for a corner. He appears to have picked up a bloodied lip for his troubles, but that was an important tackle! The corner is gathered by Rogers.

107'

The Dundalk manager Filippo Giovagnoli has been booked for his protestations about a tackle on Patrick McEleney.

106'

EXTRATIME SECOND HALF!

The second half of extra-time between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk has started.

A very animated water break on the Sheriff side suggests some of the players are frustrated with how things are gonig.

But we haven't long left, Sheriff will benefit most from the lottery of penalty kicks on this showing.

105'

Kapic tries to steal the ball away from Rogers, but the Dundalk custodian has the momentum and the ball in his hands for the challenge so Kapic bounces off him. He hits the deck in the most pathetic effort of a penalty claim I have ever seen...or was it? He might have a cramp, he does look tired.

104'

It's been scrappy. Dundalk marginally better but no real clear cut chances being made.

102'

Substitution

Stefan Colovic (in) - Michael Duffy (out) (Dundalk).

100'

Yellow Card

Max Veloso (Sheriff Tiraspol) is booked. He's only on the pitch and he's booked. Poor tackle on Shields who has been excellent for the Town tonight.

99'

Substitution

Max Veloso (in) - Benedik Mioc (out) (Sheriff Tiraspol).

95'

Really willing Dundalk to win here, I simply can't write a 'galliant performance' piece after this showing, they are the better side.

94'

Sheriff pressing Dundalk high and have a bit of posession. It's almost strange to see them with the ball at their feet. Dundalk have the option to counter on the wing with Kelly arriving on recently.

92'

Sheriff have a corner kick, down the same end as the goal they scored in the first half. But this time Rogers takes no chances and comes and punches clear.

91'

Phwoar. Statement of intent from Dundalk, Sloggett nearly got on the end of a cross to the six yard box to nudge the visitors ahead.

91'

EXTRATIME FIRST HALF!

The first half of extra-time between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk has started.

EXTRATIME FIRST HALF!

The first half of extra-time between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk has started.

90' + 3'

FULL TIME!

The game has ended between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk.

90' + 3'

FULL TIME!

The end of regualr play betweenSheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk. Extra-Time to follow.

90' + 3'

Brian Gartland gets a head on a corner, what a steal that would have been, it was goalward but lacked accuracy. It didn't matter, as the man in the middle reckons it's a free out. That will likely be the last action of the regualr 90.

90' + 2'

Micheal Duffy gets a head on a ball he had no right to that looked to be heading out, and it bobbles across the six yard box. I don't think anyone expected him to get to that, if there had been a player waiting it was a certain goal.

90'

Three minutes added to the regular 90. Extra-time to be played if it stays this way.

90'

Yellow Card

Ousmane N'Diaye (Sheriff Tiraspol) is booked.

88'

Substitution

Dabney dos Santos Souza (in) - Dimitris Kolovos (out) (Sheriff Tiraspol).

88'

Substitution

Daniel Kelly (in) - John Mountney (out) (Dundalk).

87'

In the dying embers of the game the ball bounces in the Lilywhites' box. It would be a travesty if they conceeded now due to a loss of concentration. Cool heads needed, the way things are going, extra-time would suit the Irish side.

86'

A Micheal Duffy corner loops in and is gathered comfortably by the netminder.

85'

Sheriff break following a dangerous ball into the Dundalk box. The hoofed clearance leads to a Sheriff player in space on the right, appeared to be offside but it's not called, he plays it into Castaneda who triese to shove Gartland out of the way. Rogers gathers to ease nerves.

83'

Parra fouls Hoban and gives a free away and a chance for Dundalk to get it into the box.

81'

Sheriff manufacture a half chance, down the right and pull it back for Mioc to meet just outside the box. But it's miles over.

78'

The ball is launched long over the Dundalk defence and finds two stikers, both very offside. The linesman had an easy decision to make.

76'

Dundalk work it into the six yard box but Duffy's cross is behind the players in the box and Sheriff hoof it clear.

72'

Substitution

Patrick McEleney (in) - Sean Murray (out) (Dundalk).

Not a bad sub to be able to make at all. Dundalk are looking the sharper as we enter the final quarter of this game.

71'

Dundalk have the ball in the net but it's not counted. Hoban and Mikulic challenge for the ball and it spills to Sloggett who dives to head it home...but the referee reckons Hoban fouled the 'keeper in the first instance.

70'

Yellow Card

Chris Shields (Dundalk) is booked. Both teams with two yellows.

70'

Leahy wins a free and holds his open palm to the linesman to show his exhasparation at the number of fouls he feels have been comitted on him.

69'

Yellow Card

Sean Murray (Dundalk) is booked for simulation. He lost control of the ball in the box and threw himself on the ground.

67'

Sheriff have a free kick and an attempt to put bodies in the Dundalk box. Sean Hoare perhaps frustrated at the one way fouling lunges in on the right side and gives the Moldovan's some respite.

65'

A free kick about 40 yards out for a tackle on Duffy. If there is any danger of the Lilywhites making headway, the response seems to be to take them.

64'

Another free kick for Dundalk, deep in their own half. A delibearate effort to disrupt play.

63'

Substitution

Charles Petro (in) - Andrei Peteleu (out) (Sheriff Tiraspol).

62'

Two free kicks in quick succession for Dundalk. Two poor tackles in quick succession from Sheriff. The air of frustration rising here from the home side.

61'

Yellow Card

Andrei Peteleu (Sheriff Tiraspol) is booked.

58'

Ohhhh Mountney appeared to be tripped near the edge of the box, play resumes. That would have been a good place to get a free, and only a roll away from rousing shouts for a penalty.

55'

A few quick passes from Sheriff and they are from one end of the pitch to the other. A reminder of the dangers they pose, Sheriff opting for direct balls from deep since the restart. Thankfully, for the Lilywhites, they have lacked accurary.

53'

Duffy gets the ball on the left and crosses in low and menacingly, it finds an arriving, if slightly off-balance, John Mountney who tries to flick it past Mikulic but it doesn't trouble the 'keeper.

50'

Dan Cleary wins a free, he's dragged down by both arms. It would have passed in rugby.

49'

Dundalk haven't quite resumed that level of fluidity they had just before the break, I'm sure Sheriff have come out with the intention of disrupting that. But they are still looking to get on the ball, those early door nerves well and truly gone.

46'

SECOND HALF

The second half between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk has started.

46'

Substitution

Andy Boyle (in) - Andy Boyle (out) (Dundalk).

45' + 3'

HALF TIME

It is half-time between Sheriff Tiraspol and Dundalk.

The referee blew up on three mins sharp, Dundalk were in posession. Sheriff will be glad of that whistle at the moment.

45'

GOAL!

Sean Murray (Dundalk) scores.

Duffy's cross and Murray's goal, a timely equaliser and no less than the Irish side deserve. The Lilywhites are playing all of the ball here.

44'

Dundalk look like they could find a way out of the nightmare start - they have been dominant once they settled after the early goal and injury. Unfortunately time is a premium with the half closing, I hope they can manufacture a moment of brilliance to unpick this brutish defence.

41'

Mountney and Cristiano go up for a header. Cristiano comes in late with his elbow up and catches Mountney. Mountney goes down in a heap holding his head. Cristiano wriggles around on the ground like he's dug up a live wire with a shovel, actual convulsions. The referee doesn't seem interested. The linesman who was about a foot away has no input. Cristiano pops up, not a bother. Mountney is still rubbing his head.

39'

Chris Shields trys a shot from 40 yards (every Dundalk fan rolls their eyes reading this)...it's wide.

38'

Yellow Card

Veaceslav Posmac (Sheriff Tiraspol), their goalscorer, is booked.

38'

It's all Dundalk here. Sheriff booting it into touch at times to relieve the pressure and skating the edge of the law with some questionable tackles.

35'

A Dundalk corner is met by the head of Cleary but zips wide. He complains he was pulled and he is right to do so. Both he and Hoare seemed to be bundled to the ground as the ball came in.

33'

The free kick is headed clear but Dundalk keep posession and after it spills back to the defenders, they swap it to the left wing and then right quickly and force a corner. A purple passage of play for the visitors.

The corner kick is met with a header by Sean Hoare but it veers wide. Hoare complains he was pulled.

32'

Two tackles from Shields and Hoban cough up posession in the Sheriff half. Hoban looked to run onto a chance of his own making but the ball was just too far ahead of him.

28'

Dundalk looked to break. Mountney nutmegged Cristiano and looked to be on his bike but appeared to be pulled down. The ref seemed to initially want play to continue but then calls it back for a free. No card shown.

26'

Glimmers of hope - Dundalk having a decent passage here. and Sheriff seem content to sit back and absorb.

The plan works, Duffy tries a backheel which goes out for a throw. It might take a moment of magic to break through, but that was not it.

20'

It's been a poor start from a Dundalk perspective. A goal down and a key player forced off through injury. They seem to be struggling to get a foothold in the game so far. It's worth noting, Dundalk don't have any defenders on the bench now.

15'

Dundalk playing in all white and Sheriff Tiraspol in an all black kit. That is about all I can update you with now as the feed from this game has frozen for the time being.

13'

Substitution

John Mountney (in) - Sean Gannon (out) (Dundalk).

Not exactly a like for like sub. Sean Gannon was in some distress and had to be replaced.

8'

ASSIST!

Andriy Bliznichenko(Sheriff Tiraspol) provides the assist.

8'

GOAL!

Veaceslav Posmac (Sheriff Tiraspol) scores.

Bad start for the Lilywhites, Posmac heads home from a corner kick.
