SHELBOURNE
Shelbourne are back in action in Tolka Park when they host Bohemians on Wednesday night (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Reds sit joint top of the Women’s National League with Peamount United and Wexford Youths, but only just.
DLR Waves ran Shelbourne close on Saturday at the UCD Bowl when Niamh Prior equalized after the visitors had taken the lead through Ciara Grant in the second half.
It took a Pearl Slattery goal deep into injury time for last year’s runners up to claim the three points.
They will be hoping they can pick up another win in less dramatic fashion against newcomers Bohemians tomorrow night.
BOHEMIANS
The Gypsies will be looking to pick up their first points of the season against Shelbourne on Wednesday night, yet another tough task for the side after losses to Wexford Youths and Galway.
Sean Byrne’s side were hampered in their game against Galway with the early dismissal of their goalkeeper Courtney Maguire.
The Galway Girls went on to win 4-1 but, as in Wexford, Bohemians managed to get on the score sheet, this time through Bronagh Kane.
The Phibsborough side have certainly showed their character and scoring threat in their opening games in the WNL and Shelbourne will need to be aware of that on Wednesday night.
