14 minutes to go here and the limited crowd are adding a sense of urgency here. As I type that the place goes quiet.
De Vries to Coughlan to Donelon on the wing but Derry defend and concede a throw.
Coughlan takes it. It's wide of the goal but with the wind behind them, frees like that are a real opportunity.

Donelon fires off a shot and Cherrie is down and saves, spills but regathers before Coughlan could pounce.
Oh a great move. Junior with great footwork beats two. Passes to Coughlan who returns it to Junior. He sees Morahan free at the edge of the box and he shoots but it is wayward and wide. He should have gotten one on target but one of the best moves of the game.
Conditions are getting worse in the Showgrounds. We are due a lot of rain in Ireland tonight and it looks like it has landed in Sligo.
Derry City have started the second half the better. They have pressed for most of the seven minutes so far.

Into the last minute as McGinty kicks the ball straight out from his goal kick.
Derry City with Hammill crosses. It is headed clear to Akintunde who shoots but misses the target.
Lots of endeveour from both sides but that ends before any meaningful attacks are formed.
Noone up the right and keeps going but maybe too far as Derry dispossess him of the ball.
Five minutes to go in a half were we have not seen an awfull ot of goal mouth action.
Sligo break. Devers crosses and Junior tries to get on the end of it but Cherrie grabs it at the feet of the attacker.
Cherrie kicks up field and the ball is welcomed into the arms of his opposite number McGinty.
Donelon with the corner. Rolled to the edge of the box to Buckley but his shot is blocked before it really has a chance to leave his boot.
Oh a scramble in the goalmouth but Cherrie denies the home side an opener and it goes out for a corner.
Sligo Rovers with possession over the last two minutes but no end product.
Walter Figueira with a long range cross into the box and DARREN COLE gets on the end of it but can only half control the ball rather than shoot and the chance goes. That was a super cross and a great opportunity for Derry.
Two fouls in a row in quick succession against Sligo as the Derry bench protest at the second's severity. No cards.
Cross into the Derry box and a chance for Sligo but saved. Some calls for a peno but it is ignored by the ref.
No real chances of note to mention so far in this game. Neither keeper has really been troubled.

I have to warn you all - the last three games I did updates for were all 0-0 so if this is same I might just stop doing them to avoid more scoreless clashes.

Free to Derry on the side of the Sligo box and yet again the first man is not beaten. Very poor so far on deliveries. And as I said that a much better ball in flashes across the goal and no one can make contact. A really good chance there.

Sligo Rovers have won back and lost possession far too easily around three times in a row there. They are struggling to keep the ball at these early stages but largesly due to unforced errors.
A better corner in and McGinty takes it, oh no he doesn't, it is fumbled and a Sligo Rovers player boots it clear.
The corner is taken and again the first man, Ronan Coughlan, is failed to be beaten and he puts it out for a second corner.
Immediately Derry City win a free-kick in a dangerous position. The free fails to beat the first man, Jesse Devers and they win a corner.
The game between Sligo Rovers and Derry City has kicked off. No kneeling in this game.

Anyways enough of the music facts, the teams are out and the captains for this game are in the centre circle and whoever won the toss has elected to switch sides. They switch over and line up for a minute's silence for the one and only Mr. Michael Hayes. May he rest in peace.
