Zoo will be the best?

Following the success of Paul the Octopus in predicting the outcome of the 2010 World Cup, a raft of animals are lining up to tell us the outcome of specific matches this time around.

Citta, an elephant from Krakow Zoo predicted that the host nation would triumph over the 2004 European Champions Greece in the opening fixture of this year's Championships earlier today. She made the choice by eating a melon that was marked Poland before scoffing down the melon marked to represent the draw, before taking her time in eating the melon representing Greece.

Not to be outdone by their co-hosts, in Ukraine they have two psychic animals that they say will beat the bookies. Khryak, a pig from Kyiv will pick the winner of matches by eating from plates of food with flags attached to it. While in Kharkiv, attention will turn to a ferret named Fred to predict the games.

Then there's old reliable as far as clairvoyant animals go. Paulus the Octopus, born in Germany but living in an aquarium in Porto. Paulus will be coming into the competition of the animals with a bit of pedigree, after his the octopus Paul predicted the outcome of eight matches in the 2010 tournament.

However, will any of the animals be able to live up to our own Extratime.ie tipster Frankie Lally? Frankie has been tipping his fair share of winners so far this year, and stands at a profit nearly half way through the Airtricity League season. If any of them live up to the legend of Frankie, they'll be certainly be doing well.
