Extratime Bets - Week 12

Credit:

I said ATHLONE TOWN would beat Mervue last week and they did. This week their odds look a shade big for a win in Limerick, with Coral pricing them at a massive 10/1. Ladbrokes are as low as 6/1.

Limerick somewhat stuttered to a win against basement boys SD Galway last week and did not look all that convincing despite their eventual 5-2 win.

In-form Athlone may just have enough to spring a surprise, but I wouldn't be going in with too much confidence.

I would be more confident on over 2.5 goals in Drogheda United's visit to Tallaght to take on Shamrock Rovers, who are desperate for a result.

FIVE of Rovers last six games have produced three or more goals and I can see that happening again on Friday night.

The Hoops may need a win but it won't be easy against a Drogheda side that is bang in-form and could leap-frog Stephen Kenny's men with a win.

The Drogs are also undefeated away from home this season, so they are the side Rovers supporters would least want to see after their crushing 3-0 defeat to Sligo last weekend.

Of all the teams in the top-half of the table Rovers have scored the most. The problem is though, they have also conceded the most.

Drogheda aren't strangers in finding the net either but they also struggle to keep out the opposition. In their last four league games there have been two or more goals and you can bank on their being more at Tallaght on Friday.

Good luck!
