LSL Senior Sunday round-up: Kilbarrack United go top as Bangor Celtic defeat Bluebell

Kilbarrack United have unseated Wayside Celtic at the top of the LSL Senior Sunday thanks to a 3-1 win.

Ross Carrig’s side have impressed this season and their win has condemned Wayside to their first defeat of the campaign.

The newly-promoted side took the lead in the 43rd minute following an own-goal.

And just two minutes later the North Dubliners doubled their advantage when Mark Townley struck.

Jack Kelly then sealed the deal during the second-half before Darragh O’Connor fired in a 76th minute consolation for the South Dublin outfit.

Meanwhile, Bangor Celtic blitzed Bluebell United 5-2 at the Transport Club on Sunday morning.

A Timmy Babington brace set John Scott’s men on their way to a comfortable win.

Ronan Hanaphy also found the net alongside Ogi Lovic and now former League of Ireland defender Derek Prendergast for Celtic.

Bluebell remain in 10th while Bangor have risen to fifth ahead of St Mochta’s in the table on goal difference.

Maynooth University Town won their first game of the campaign following a 2-1 win over Malahide United.

Former Longford Town midfielder Eoin O’Neill opened the scoring for the Co Kildare side with ex-Drogheda United youth Dylan Molloy also netting.

Jake O’Connor scored for Malahide but it was not enough for United to avoid defeat.

St Francis also recorded a 3-0 win over Liffey Wanderers with Sean O’Mahoney, Janabi Amour and Jordan Payne all on target.

Crumlin United picked up a 2-2 draw away to Tolka Rovers.

James Woods and Tyrick Reilly both scored for Rovers but those two goals were cancelled out by James Lee’s outfit.

Former Bray Wanderers winger Ger Shortt and Troy Carey netted for the Dublin 8 team.

They will face Home Farm in Whitehall on September 22nd.

And Home Farm come into that off the back of a 3-1 win over North Dublin rivals Killester-Donnycarney.

In form Shane Lyons fired in a brace for John Hand’s side with Kevin Platon also on target.

Conor Cleary scored a consolation for Killester-Donnycarney.
