Vera Pauw has selected 31 players for her pre-World Cup training squad. The training sessions will be split between UCD and the FAI National Training Centre over a four-week block.

A final squad for the Women’s World Cup, consisting of 23 players, will be whittled down by June 29 ahead of the send-off game in Tallaght Stadium against France on 6 July in Tallaght before the squad departs for the next day.

Ireland will also bring three training players to the World Cup.

After returning recently from injury Liverpool skipper Niamh Fahey and her club teammate Leanne Kiernan are included, as is Chloe Mustaki, but there is no place for Manchester United’s Aoife Mannion. However the FAI noted that she ‘is being monitored after picking up a knock in club training recently’.

There is no place for Shamrock Rovers defender Savannah McCarthy but Rovers captain Áine O’Gorman and Abbie Larkin are included as is Peamount United’s Erin McLaughlin and Tara O’Hanlon.

Ireland skipper Katie McCabe, along with three US-based players (Denise O'Sullivan, Sinead Farrelly and Marissa Sheva) will link up with the squad after the Zambia friendly in Tallaght on 22 June.
