Ireland boss Stephen Kenny has called up Shamrock Rovers wing-back Neil Farrugia into his training camp due to take place in Bristol next week.
Kenny unveiled a 22-man squad for the four-day camp as he ramps up preparations for the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Greece and Gibraltar in June.
Farrugia, 23, has been a stand out performer for the Hoops this season as Stephen Bradley’s side surged to the top of the table in recent weeks.
And he has since earned a call-up to the Boys in Green training camp as a result of his performances.
The former UCD winger played under Kenny at under-21 international level – and has been joined in the squad by Derry City keeper Brian Maher and Bohemians star James Talbot.
Ireland under-21 striker Tom Cannon has also been called into the panel after his strong end to the season with Preston North End in the Championship.
Former Cork City defender Sean McLoughlin has also been drafted into the fold – while Jeff Hendrick and Alan Browne will miss the camp through injury.
Andrew Omobamidele, Callum Robinson and Seamus Coleman have all been ruled out of the upcoming qualifiers through injury.
Middlesbrough defender Darragh Lenihan and Peterborough United midfielder Jack Taylor will not be involved with the training camp due to their club's participation in the EFL play-offs.
All Premier League players remain in action for their clubs as well as Mikey Johnston at Vitoria de Guimaraes, Jamie McGrath at Dundee United and Matt Doherty at Atlético Madrid who continue their domestic seasons
“The six-week break between the end of the Championship and our qualifier in Greece is something we have to navigate and make sure our preparations are planned well,” boss Kenny said.
“This training camp in Bristol for four days is essential before we travel to Turkey on June 5th for nine days ahead of our visit to Athens and we're looking forward to a good four days training and some sharp sessions.”
