League Preview: Wexford -v- Bray Wanderers

WEXFORD

On a rare high after defeating Waterford last weekend, Wexford host Bray Wanderers at Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night as they bid to get their season back on track.

The Slaneysiders have struggled for consistency under new manager James Keddy but their derby win over the Blues has put them in good stead.

Aaron Dobbs’ early strike proved to be the difference between the two teams as Keddy’s charges moved up to 6th in the table.

The victory also means they are now just two points behind Bray Wanderers who occupy 5th spot on 16 points.

However, they will come into Friday’s game without injured trio Aaron Robinson, Thomas Considine and Evan Farrell.

In-form striker Dobbs is also rated as a doubt for the clash against the Wanderers.

BRAY WANDERERS

Ian Ryan returns to Ferrycarrig Park for the first time since leaving Wexford at the end of last season as he looks to bring an end to a wretched winless run for Bray.

The Seagulls lost their two games during the May Bank Holiday weekend against Waterford and Treaty United having lost and drawn against Longford Town and Galway United before that.

And Ryan is hopeful that his side can bounce back sooner rather than later.

“There’s hiding about it. It was a bad long weekend for us,” he admitted.

“So we are just going back to basics and will put a performance in. If we do that we’ll be alright.

“The performance against Waterford was good. On Monday againstTreaty United wasn't so good. It was flat.

“All we can do is assess where we’re at, where we’re doing ok. We’re up at the top end of the table. A win changes everything.”

Defender Cole Omorehiomwan is suspended after his dismissal against Treaty, while Max Murphy serves the first of an additional two-game ban.

Striker Jake Walker (foot) and midfielder Conor Crowley (foot) both remain on the side-lines.

However, defender Eoin Farrell has resumed training but is still rated as a doubt. Len O’Sullivan is being assessed after playing 45 minutes against Treaty. Ger Shortt may return.

Referee: Gavin Colfer.
