League Preview: Longford Town -v- Finn Harps

LONGFORD TOWN

Longford Town welcome Finn Harps to Bishopsgate on Saturday evening as they look to bring an end to their winless start to the season (kick-off is at 7.30pm).

Stephen Henderson’s side lost their first game of the campaign but have recovered from that setback with consecutive draws against Waterford, Cobh Ramblers and Bray Wanderers.

But goals have been a problem for De Town as they have scored just twice this season.

However, they have looked solid defensively since the signing of Bohemians defender Cian Byrne on loan for the season.

Longford have not issued any team news for the game but have no players on the suspended list for the game.

FINN HARPS

Finn Harps will be looking to claim just their first win of the season when they take on Longford Town at Bishopsgate.

Dave Rogers side lie below Longford in the league table but have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks after a dismal start.

And they will be targeting Saturday’s clash on the Strokestown as an opportunity to claim their first win of the campaign.

“Our approach is always to try and win each and every game,” Rogers said.

“I always reiterate to the players that we must play on the front foot and be more confident and proactive in front of goal.

“It is definitely an area of our play that must improve as we strive to win matches.

“Longford Town are very resilient and will be very well set up under Stephen Henderson so we know for us to come away from Bishopsgate with a positive result.”

Keith Cowan is a doubt for the game.

Referee: Daniel Murphy.
