Bohemians have added the finishing touches to their defensive line with the signing of Krystian Nowak ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

Nowak, 28, has previously played for Hearts in Scotland and was most recently on the books of Universitatea Cluj.

He is Bohemians 12th new arrival of the season and is also a former two-time Polish Under-21 international.

And Bohs boss Declan Devine is hoping that his new recruit can hit the ground running.

He said: “Krystian is exactly the type of experienced defender I wanted to bring to the club in this window.

“He has had a great career so far, has played in some top leagues and he is a really good age profile for us.

“We knew we had to strengthen in defence and we have done that now over the past couple of weeks. Krystian now gives us that extra bit of experience that we needed at the back."

Elsewhere, Dundalk have signed Swansea City defender Wasiri Williams on a loan deal.

Williams, 22, has impressed for Swansea’s Under-21 side and has also played senior football with Ashford United, Tunbridge Wells, Sheppey United, Hatcham FC, Braintree Town and Corinthian Casuals in the English non-leagues.

And after joining the Lilywhites he said: “I was with my family on Saturday when my agent called me about the opportunity and it was a quick transition.

“I wanted to come here and play, Swansea wanted me to come here and play so it was a thumbs up all around.

“I’m an aggressive centre-back who loves to tackle but I also like to play which is something I can hopefully bring to the team.”

Meanwhile, First Division side Cobh Ramblers have signed Liam Kervick from Munster rivals Waterford.
