Former Cabinteely youth Jamie Egan moves to Weymouth on loan

Former Cabinteely youngster Jamie Egan has moved on loan to English non-league side Weymouth on loan from Bristol Rovers for one month.

Egan, 19, played for Bray Wanderers at Under-15 level in 2018, and Cabinteely in 2019.

While at Cabinteely, Egan played at Under-17 and Under-19 level before moving to Bristol Rovers.

And since joining the Gas, the defender has played on loan with Hereford and Gloucester City in the National League in England.

He has also played with Rovers first-team squad – having been promoted to the set-up in May 2022.

Weymouth are currently struggling at the foot of National League South in 23rd, three points ahead of Hungerford Town.

And Weymouth boss Bobby Wilkinson said: “I’m extremely happy to get Jamie over the line from Bristol Rovers.

“He’s had some good experience as he’s played non-league football at this level with Gloucester and Hereford.”

Meanwhile, the club have also unveiled the loan signing of former St Patrick’s Athletic loanee Nahum Melvin-Lambert.

The Londoner will also spend a month at Weymouth with Egan.
