Nowadays football is one of the most watched sports around the world. Fans like to go to the stadium to watch matches, but football can be enjoyed in many forms, from watching it at your favourite bar to just have it playing in the background when visiting your favourite Irish Online Casino.

And within this sport, the Premier League is considered by most to be the pinnacle of the footballing world. Everyone is trying to break into one of the 20 teams that play in it, but despite that tough competition, we think these Irish players are ones to look out for, as they could soon make it in a top team.

Lewis Richards

The Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Lewis Richards has had a strong season for the club in the Premier League’s reserve league, with 13 starts, 1 goal, and 2 assists. These would be solid numbers for a midfielder, so the fact that he’s achieved stats like these from a centre-back show how promising the player is. Richards has spent his entire career at the Wolves and will be hoping that this year will be his year.

Ademipo Odubeko

The West Ham United forward has been making a name for himself this season with some fantastic performances, the highlight being a hat-trick against the Manchester United U23 team. He was loaned out to League 1 side Port Vale at the start of the season, scoring on his debut, and did manage a couple of appearances for the first team in the 2020/21 season before injury struck. Once he’s fully recovered, he’ll be one to look out for.

Jamie Bowden

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Bowden has looked close to breaking through into the first team, having made it into the matchday squad on several occasions. However, he’s not quite made the cut so far, despite his impressive performances for the Tottenham U23 side. The upcoming star has also been exceptional on the international stage, scoring twice and making two assists on his debut for the Ireland U19 squad.

Will Ferry

Southampton have a rich history of bringing through exciting up and coming talent, and that’s exactly what Will Ferry is. The full-back had a fantastic loan spell with Crawley Town in the 2021-22 season, making 35 appearances and scoring once. This season he’s been moved up a level and is spending the season with League One’s Cheltenham Town. If he can replicate his good performances there, there’s every chance we’ll see him start for Southampton soon.

Shane Flynn

Finally, we have Shane Flynn. The Irishman has looked close to getting a first-team appearance in recent years, with appearances on the bench in Europa League and Premier League matches. However, since then, he’s been forced to prove his worth in the Reserve League. The left-back put in plenty of decent performances last season, so another good season could see him make the breakthrough.

There’s plenty of talent in the ranks of these Premier League clubs and we’re very keen to see who will be the promising stars of the next generation. In the meantime, let’s keep an eye on the above mentioned promising stars as we’re very sure they’ll bring us football matches worth remembering.
