Stephen Bradley: “Trust what we do."

Shamrock Rovers boss Stephen Bradley was in an upbeat mood despite his side’s second loss of the season last night.

The league champions pressed St. Pat’s high and enjoyed long spells of possession at Richmond Park. Ronan Finn and Rory Gaffney went closest for the visitors, but Chris Forrester’s second half header was the difference at full time.

Speaking to extratime.com, Bradley added that although the result wasn’t there, the performance was.

“Trust what we do, because tonight if we produce that, with the chances we had, we will win more games than we lose.”

“Tonight, one set play and one shot from 30 yards was all we had to contend with. There was no threat. They had a spell when it got scrappy, but there was very little threat from them.”

“I thought we were very, very good, controlled the game and imposed ourselves on the game very quickly.”

“It’s a hard one because you don’t want to lose, but I’m happy with the performance.”

Despite losing to St. Pat’s for the first time in four years, Bradley said that once he examined the statistic’s, he was very pleased with his side’s showing.

“Looking at the stats there, we created 13 or 14 chances,” said Bradley.

“We had over 30 entries into the final third to their one.”

“Tonight’s the best we’ve been all year, and I think if we produce that, nine times out of ten we win the game. It could have been over at half time with the chances we had”
